## What this page said

The page said that what and how people eat affects energy, mood and overall health, and that nutrition was part of every clinical program, developed for each patient group by the staff dietitian, who presented at one session of each program.

A Mindful Eating page set out recommendations the institute described as extensively researched: at least five fruits and vegetables a day and whole grains and beans over refined grains; limits on saturated and trans fats; regular good fats such as olive, canola, peanut and fish oils; and limits on portions of starches, sweets and fats. This is 2008 dietary advice and should be compared with current guidelines.

## Key points from the original

- Nutrition was one of five main elements of mind/body medicine.
- Advice centred on plants, whole grains and unsaturated fats.
- Dietary guidance reflects 2008 and may have changed.

This is a historical record, not medical advice.
